CLE EVENT: AVOIDING THE PITFALLS OF TRUST AND ESTATE ADMINISTRATIONS

Tuesday, December 20, 2022

Sponsored by NetLaw

On December 20th, participants joined us virtually for a complimentary Continuing Legal Education (CLE) webinar to learn more about estate planning best practices and how to avoid various pitfalls of trust and estate administrations. They gained valuable insight from Ramsey Watson, Associate Attorney at Hargrove Firm, Megan Holt, Partner and leader of the Trust & Estate Litigation Group at Hargrove Firm, and Jamie Hargrove, Founding Partner, Attorney and CPA at Hargrove Firm, as they explored the topics listed in the agenda posted here.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Ms. Watson discussed various assets a practitioner should be mindful of, and issues that can arise throughout the estate administration process. She provided insight on titling assets to practicing attorneys (no matter their field of law) for use with their clients and to non-attorneys who come into contact with a decedent’s estate and/or trust.

  2. Ms. Holt provided concrete examples of poor estate planning practices on the part of clients and attorneys that led to preventable disputes and overly complicated estate administration. She presented common causes of trust and estate disputes and issues in administration that she has identified from her experience.

  3. Mr. Hargrove drew on his four decades of experience to present key strategies of foundational estate planning for attorney use with clients, helping both parties avoid preventable disputes.

This activity is approved for 2.0 General CLE credits in Kentucky, Wyoming, and Colorado. This course has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of Texas Committee on MCLE in the amount of 2.0 credit hours, of which 0 credit hours will apply to legal ethics/professional responsibility credit.
