Daniel is an Of Counsel attorney at Hargrove Firm. His practice includes high-net-worth estate planning, charitable giving strategies, and tax-exempt organization law. He has decades of experience working with a wide variety of large tax-exempt organizations, from the largest to the smallest. Daniel has also administered charitable trusts and endowment funds for institutional banking clients.

Daniel is an attorney, MBA, and CPA (Arizona inactive). He is licensed to practice law in Arizona. He began his professional career at Ernst & Young and subsequently worked in top Arizona law firms, in addition to practicing on his own for many years.

Daniel has founded and led nonprofits, including ArtWins Arizona, which has propelled Arizona artists onto the international stage, and co-founded the ASU Alumni Law Group, a first-of-its-kind teaching law firm. He also served as Senior Planned Giving Consultant for the Episcopal Church Foundation, where he helped churches and dioceses design sustainable giving and endowment programs, and as Interim Executive Director he led a 2-year turnaround of Chapel Rock (Prescott, AZ) into one of the premier Episcopal camp and conference centers in the US. His other church leadership includes 9 years on the board of directors of the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona, 9 years on the finance committee of the Diocese, and elected 3 times to represent the people of the Diocese at the triennial Episcopal Church General Convention.

Daniel is a native of Grand Rapids, MI, and is still deeply connected with their local arts community.  He is heavily involved with ArtPrize, the world’s largest international art competition, which takes place every Fall in Grand Rapids. Daniel established the ArtPrize “pitch night” program, which is a series of statewide art competitions taking place every year in cities across the country.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys hiking in the Arizona mountains, gaming, and lifting weights in the gym five times a week.
